Linda Hogan, the ex-wife of famous pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan, was arrested Thursday morning in California on charges of Driving Under the Influence (DUI/DWI). She was also booked for driving on a suspended license. Linda was only .004% over California's legal limit of .08 percent blood alcohol content (BAC). She was released on a $5,000 bail.
In Nevada, Driving Under the Influence is an extremely serious charge. A conviction for even a first offense DUI can result in up to six (6) months in jail, extensive counseling and classes, large fines and community service. It can also result in the suspension of your driver's license. A third offense DUI or a DUI resulting in Death or Substantial Bodily Harm are felony offenses, and carry mandatory prison sentences. That means that the court cannot place a person on probation if they are convicted of those offenses – the court must sentence them to a prison term.
