Lindsay Lohan Sent to Jail for Probation Violation

Fighting For You When It Matters Most
|

Yesterday, Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to four months in jail for a probation violation.  Lohan was previously convicted of Driving Under the Influence.  While serving her term of probation, Lohan was accused of Grand Larceny for stealing a necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store.   The judge found that the new offense was a violation of her probation and sent her to jail as a consequence.

Probation violations are serious business.   A probationer might be charged with a violation for positive drug tests, failure to report to the assigned probation officer, failure to comply with the terms of probation or being charged with a new offense.  If you are charged with a probation violation, there are a wide variety of possible outcomes.  The Court could reinstate your probation, reinstate your probation with additional terms, or the Court could revoke your probation and sent you to jail and/or prison.
