John Stamos, best known for his role as “Uncle Jesse” on the hit TV show Full House, has been charged with Driving under the Influence (DUI/DWI). Officers in Beverly Hills pulled over Stamos due to erratic driving. Stamos reportedly had GHB in his system at the time. Stamos claims that he was using the GHB to lean out his body mass for his next upcoming role. GHB, commonly known as the “date rape” drug, has more recently been used by body builders and fitness crowd to develop lean muscle and help muscles recover faster.
A conviction for Driving under the Influence, also called DUI or DWI, can have a devastating impact on a person’s personal and professional life. In addition to possibly losing your license (and even your job in some cases), a conviction for Driving under the Influence carries a potential punishment of up to six (6) months in jail as well as extensive classes, counseling and huge fines. In this case, it does not appear that Stamos had any GHB in his possession at the time of his arrest. That is certainly fortunate for him. Nevada has some of the strictest Drug Possession laws in the nation. In Nevada, possession of any amount of GHB is a felony.
